Tragedy struck the Cruciotti family’s Serenity Farm in Wellington, FL early Thursday morning.

Firefighters were called to the scene of a barn fire around 1:00 am this morning on 15255 Estancia Lane. The blaze, first reported by cbs12.com, claimed the lives of three horses and sent a firefighter and two deputies to the hospital for treatment.

According to a post on Kelli Cruciotti’s Facebook page, her team managed to get 18 horses to safety before the barn was destroyed by flames. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Wrote Cruciotti:

“Tonight every horse owners worst nightmare came true at our farm in Wellington-A barn fire. My team did an amazing job getting horses out of their stalls quickly saving 18 lives💕. Please pray for the owners of the 3 horses we were unable to save. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the families. We are grateful for the outpouring of help in the middle of the night with trailers, feed and help leading horses off the farm. We lost everything in our tack and feed rooms. At this time we do not know the cause of the fire.”
