Richard Vogel’s super stallion United Touch S is out of competition for the foreseeable future.
The world No. 1 posted the following update on Instagram:
“United is currently under veterinary care after developing an infection that requires ongoing treatment and close monitoring. He is receiving the very best care, and we are working closely with our veterinary team to support his recovery in every way possible.
At this stage, it is too early to determine the timeline for his recovery. United’s health and well-being are, and will remain, our absolute priority.”
Renowned for his ground-devouring stride, otherworldly scope, and elastic adjustability, United Touch S has earned $3.17 million in prize money and won nine five-star grand prix titles (Jumpr stats), including the World Cup of Basel, The Dutch Masters, and the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen this year alone. The 14-year-old Westphalian by Untouched took Vogel to a dominating team gold at the 2026 World Championships and individual gold—on a new record score—at the 2025 European Championships. The pair also helped Germany to team gold medals at the 2023 FEI Nations Cup Final and 2024 Longines League of Nations Final.
Continued Vogel in his post:
“We know how much United means to so many people around the world, and we are very grateful for the concern, support and understanding being shown for him. We will share a further update as soon as there is meaningful progress to report.”
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
