NEW BRITAIN, CONNECTICUT—If recent history has taught us anything, it’s that the kids will do just about anything for a Stanley. Available in varying sizes as large as 64 fluid ounces, Stanley water bottles promise to keep your iced coffee chilly or your matcha tea steaming for 11 or 7 hours, respectively.

And boy, will you look drip while toting one.

With a range of chic colors as well as cross-over brand collabs (think: Target, Starbucks), Stanleys have set a new standard for both coolness and excessive hydration, earning Gen Z acolytes across college campuses and bougie suburban towns from coast to coast.

This fall, though, it appears there’s a new Stanley in town, and it’s making 64 ounces look like—well—child’s play

Enter the Stanley Rolling Chest (read: tack box): the unofficial, $142 portable tack locker of discerning-yet-budget-conscious horse girls everywhere. The two brands share the same corporate name, and now, a growing popularity with young people. But that’s where the similarities end.

And if you thought shlepping a clunky, oversized, metallic water bottle around was starting to cramp your style, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

In recent months, Stanley tack boxes have caught the attention of the TikTok generation, and they’re liking what they see. Offering 50 gallons-worth of space for your saddle, bridle, brushes, boots, fly spray, tack cleaning equipment, and more, this Stanley also comes with a mobile option: load ’em up, grab a handle, and wheel ’em on down the road.

“I’ll never go back to my old Stanley water bottle again,” said Olivia Alberts, who recently purchased a Stanley Rolling Chest to help her lug her school books, lap top, bucket hat, wool clogs, and extra pairs of three-sizes-too-big-clothing around campus.

“Horse girls had it right from the start. These Stanleys are utilitarian and strong—no drama, no frills, no waste—all concepts our consumer-driven 21st-century culture is sorely lacking. I also have so much more room in my Stanley Tack Box: I can take a whole cooler of cold water in my rolling chest if I want to!” Alberts continued.

At present, Stanley tack boxes only come in the traditional, matte-black color with electric-yellow logo, but the company says they’ve listened to their new customer base, and will be unveiling a swath of new shades in 2026. And while their forthcoming, iridescent rose gold model may be getting some side-eye from the eventing and electrician communities, alike, Stanley has a very good reason to comply with the Swiftie demographic’s demands.

Over the last six months, they’ve seen a 10-fold increase in corporate sales.

“It’s an astounding course of events!” says Larry Grouse, a spokesman for Stanley Rolling Chests. “Our previous market was, of course, geared toward professional contractors, equestrians, and 50-something garage putterers, so this whole thing is very new to us. But, we’re rolling with it—pun intended! Gen Z has spoken, and we’re here to answer the call.”

Of course, not everyone is thrilled with the latest craze for baby-elephant-sized rolling chests, which can weight over 150 pounds when loaded.

Residential operations offices at colleges everywhere are begging students to leave their Stanley totes at home due dormitory space concerns, while student health services nationwide have reported an uptick in accidental injuries resulting from runaway Stanley chests striking students at high speeds on stairwells, hallways, and campus hillsides.

For her part, though, Olivia Alberts is unconcerned. “A very sage person named Selena Gomez once said it best: ‘The heart wants what the heart wants.’ And the heart wants a Stanley tack box.”
