Less than a handful of horses have jumped to two 5* Grand Prix wins in 2025 to date.
On Saturday Hello Chadora Lady joined that elite roster in St. Tropez, Ramatuelle, France, claiming her second LGCT title in as many months with two-time Olympic team gold medalist Scott Brash.
They did it against two of the fastest combinations currently in the ring: World No.1 Kent Farrington with Toulayna and Julien Epaillard aboard Donatello d’Auge.
And by over a second. On a podium often determined by tenths, if not hundredths, of one.
“She gives you so much confidence,” said Brash. “Because she’s always seeing you, she’s always wanting to jump for you, you know, so it’s just about containing that energy that she has and, yeah, thankfully, it paid off today.”
But while Chadora’s GP record ranks her among the winningest horses of 2025, there’s one Jumpr stat that puts her above them all: Her 80% top three finish rate in 1.60m GPs.
“She’s done five 5* Grand Prix’s since the start of the year. She’s won two of them, and [placed] second in two of the them and one down in the other one. So it’s pretty unbelievable statistics, really,” continued Brash. “And the two that I was second, it was my fault, I should have won to be honest. I mean, she’s just an incredible mare—she’s one of the best I’ve had.”
Eight pairs advance to Gregory Bodo’s short course on the French Rivera. Second to return, Brash and the 12-year-old OS mare (Cahcco-Blue x Nintender) set the time to beat in 41.55 seconds, the only sub-42 time despite leaving the door slightly ajar with their turn to the wall.
“I had a long six on the oxer before and then she was running a little bit. It was a little of a blind turn and off the right side just wasn’t smooth enough,” he said.
“But she’s such a quick mare that even when you had one stride, it’s just so fast anyway.”
Farrington didn’t catch the time, stopping the clock in 42.74 for second place, but he did snag a Golden Ticket to the Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix at the GC Prague Playoffs. Epaillard took third in 42.87.
The LGCT next stops in Paris, June 20-22.
