The Netherland’s Kim Emmen has been tapped for the Paris Olympic team proper.
Following Wednesday’s practice session in the Paris’ Olympic arena at Versailles, Dutch chef d’équipe Jos Lansink has decided that travelling reserves Emmen and Imagine will compete in the team qualifier in place of Willem Greve and Grandorado TN N.O.P.
Emmen joins world no. 12 Harrie Smolders with Uricas vd Kattevennen and world no. 14 Maikel van der Vleuten with Beauville Z N.O.P. on the Dutch team.
Paris will be the first Olympic appearance for the 29-year-old and a test for her 8 month partnership with Imagine. In 11 rounds at 1.60m, the pair jumps clear at a 45% clip and averages just 2.4 faults, according to their Jumpr Stats. When they have a rail, it’s rarely more than one—their 4-faults or less average is a striking 91%.
Emmen is a member of the Cannes Stars powered by the Iron Dames, the team currently dominating this season of the Global Champions Tour.
