Three-day eventer Elisa Wallace, of Jasper, GA, redefines the term “barn dance” in her latest video blog. Watch her cut a rug while desensitizing the spooky young Mustang, Sparks, to Elle King’s pop hit “Exes and Ohs.” Because everything it better with the right sound track. Every. Thing.

Fun, right?! Here’s a bit more about Sparks from the Wallace Eventing Facebook page:

“This is a snapshot of the training with this horse, it also does not show the hours upon hours I have spent building the building blocks to get to this point. This horse would take the tiniest movement as a death threat. SOOOO this horse, that has made huge progress this week, in trusting that a weird and goofy, 2 legged, human, feeds him, rubs him, and doesn’t hurt him, works together with him and sometimes has to help him direct his energy, sometimes randomly falls down and makes strange movements, seems to have control of things, and rewards him with positive reinforcement and treats and at the end of the day—he is the one nickering to me. With this being my 11th mustang and a tricky one at that. Also if he wanted to, he could leave at any moment, as my cross ties are just velcro and can pop loose(I have horses pop them off for fun). This horse only wanted you to walk on eggshells, and was very guarded about his body. Preparation is key with these horses as well as building trust—which takes a lot of time and hard work and thanks to all my mustangs who help me become a better horsewoman and trainer. Yea, sorry, I’m clumsy, and sometimes I just can’t help but break out in dance, when I hear my JAM.”

Keep on dancing in the free world, Wallace. Keep on dancing.
