This week, more than 500 of the top national and international horses and riders in the world are coming together in Washington, D.C. for the 58th annual Washington International Horse Show (WIHS). This year, the country’s leading metropolitan indoor horse show returns for six days of championship sport, fast-paced entertainment and fun (did someone say Jack Russell terrier races?) capped off by Saturday’s $130,000 Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping Washington Grand Prix.
Other highlights include: the Puissance (high-jump) competition on Friday evening, WIHS Equitation Finals featuring the country’s top junior riders on Friday and Saturday, the WIHS Shetland Pony Steeplechase Championship Series on Thursday and Saturday evenings, and the WIHS Regional Horse Show Hunter Finals on Sunday.
You can view the full event schedule here.
Horse Network’s on-the-ground team will be providing updates throughout the week and you can stay abreast of all the non-stop WIHS action at the show’s live stream.
