28 Halloween Horse (and Dog) Costumes That Prove You Aren’t Trying Hard Enough

You know what we are talking about.

Your barn mates have been formulating a plan all summer long. Jenny wanted to have her own costume, but you all wanted to do a group thing at the Halloween show this year.

So, as the days ticked away and October crept closer and closer, your store credit card at Joanne’s got higher and higher as crepe, cotton batting and lots and lots of Velcro filled the barn aisles. But finally! Your masterpieces are ready. You and your mates have desensitized your poor horses to whatever franken-costume you have created… but you are sure to win. And a right of passage for the horse crazy girl, lucky enough to have a horse that doesn’t shy away from the mere sight of bemberg, burlap and brocade has arrived. For it is Halloween, and whether you are having a barn party, or attending a super-charged holiday frenzy of a horse show, some of the most insane creative horse costumes are about to emerge from the depths of every kids mind.

We scoured the interwebs… ok, I asked my friends to send me their favorite photos, and we present them here – in all of their Halloween, Horsey glory! Scroll through, and enjoy!
