The equestrian world is reeling from the death of aspiring Australian eventer Olivia Inglis. The 17 year old was killed in a rotational fall during the cross country phase of the Scone Horse Trials last Sunday that also claimed the life of her horse, Coriolanus. Inglis was literally raised with horses, a daughter of illustrious Australian thoroughbred breeders Arthur and Charlotte Inglis, who were at the event in New South Wales to support their daughter.

“We are so proud of Olivia and the beautiful young woman she was in every way. We are blessed to have had the opportunity to share our passion for horses with our children,” her parents said in a statement on Wednesday.

As word of the tragedy continues to spread, the equestrian world has united in Olivia’s memory. Riders from around the world are taking to social media, sharing photos with their horse and the hashtag #RideforOlivia.
