For as long as there have been cameras, horses and attractive women have been a match made in marketing boardroom heaven. Horses are the muse of fashion photographers everywhere; without them, it’s almost certain that real, creative chaos would ensue.

Fashion Photographer Jean-Paul Trèschic: “What is ‘dis?  We ‘av no horses for ‘di shoot today? Well, what am I supposed to drape ‘di models on?! Dees ca-mels?!”

Without horses, Hollywood starlets (yes, even you J-Law) would be forced to suffer through endlessly lacklustre magazine shoots. After all, who wants to look alluring and vaguely sulky while sitting on some elephant?

And of course, what horse-loving girl’s sexy glamour shot portfolio would be complete without at least one photo of her swimming across a suddenly bridge-less river with her horses? (“No bridge?! Heavens. However shall we cross this watery impasse?”)

As a woman myself, though, I’ve laid awake many sleepless nights worrying that cornering the equestrian photography market with attractive females might be a bit…dare I say it… sexist? After all, why should women have all the fun looking THIS GOOD on and around horses while our men muddle along with far less inspired snapshots?

Thankfully, Canadian photographer Masika Allan of Masika May Photography is here to right that longstanding wrong for us. As a practitioner of “dudeoir” photography—that is, boudoir photography for the dudes—Masika has finally brought her bro shots to the place they always should have been: the horse barn.

So, now, without further ado, we bring you Masika May’s recent dudeoir gallery, “Country Style.” Eat your heart out.
