Great Britain’s Ben Maher will not ride Point Break at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Maher was the Tokyo Games individual champion on Explosion W.
The four-time Olympian and current world no. 2 was named to Great Britain’s Paris 2024 team on the 10-year-old Swedish warmblood stallion Point Break. Due to an unspecified change in the horse’s form post-travel, Maher will now ride Dallas Vegas Batilly.
The 11-year-old Selle Français bay mare (Cap Kennedy 2 x L’Arc de Triomph), groomed by Derren Lake, was Maher’s partner at the 2024 World Cup Finals in Riyadh where they finished sixth overall.
In 34 rounds at 1.60m, this pair has a 47% clear round average (Jumpr Stats) and have jumped to seven podium finishes at the height, including victories at the World Cup in Verona and the Rolex Grand Prix in 2023.
Jumping competition at the Paris Games gets underway on August 1 with the team qualifier.
