You may be a few years and a Grand Prix horse away from your first Longines FEI World Cup Qualifier, but don’t let that stop you.

Perfect your jump-off game this weekend in the upcoming $7,500 Equestrian Canada Open Jumper Classic to benefit #WeRideTogether at Thunderbird Show Park (tbird) in Langley, BC.

Taking place Sunday, August 13, in the Pacific Park Jumper Arena, the Table II Section 2a benefit class is open to everyone and features a multiple height format of 1.0m, 1.10m, and 1.15m.

After the first round in each height section, horse-and-rider combinations that are clear and within the time allowed will be welcomed back to compete in the jump-off.

That’s right. Channeling your innermost Conor Swail, you’ll jump-off on a thrilling, head-to-head shortened course after all riders have jumped in Round 1—when it’s just you, your horse, and your jump-off plan against the world.

The best part? You’ll be jumping for a good cause. tbird is offering a reduced entry fee of $250 to competitors who want to take a crack at the $7,500 purse AND donating all entry fees for the Equestrian Canada Open Jumper Classic to #WeRideTogether.

“tbird’s history is rooted in family and love of the horse,” shared Chris Pack, President and Operations Director, Thunderbird Show Park. “It’s essential that we maintain a fun, safe, and inclusive horse show environment, and we are excited to host this charity class to benefit #WeRideTogether.”

“#WeRideTogether is proud to partner with tbird and Equestrian Canada for this class. Cultural change starts at the top—it’s tremendously exciting to see these two legacy organizations take a leadership role in keeping athletes safe,” said Michaela Shepherd, Executive Director of #WeRideTogether. “EC has adopted the UCCMS [Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport] and joined the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner.”

Want to support the cause but 1.0m or higher just isn’t in you or your horse’s purview at the moment? No problem.

Enter the class and choose not to jump, and your donation will go directly to #WeRideTogether and their important mission to empower, inform, and unite the equestrian community around healthy sport. Or, you can simply make a (tax-deductible) donation of any amount directly to #WeRideTogether here.

The very best part? Each donation made helps #WeRideTogether make all sports safer for youth, amateur, and professional athletes.
