We are this close to actual warm weather (ignore the snowpocalypse that’s currently blanketing the middle of the country).

While we wait for crocuses and daffodils to pop their tiny heads out from beneath the ground, get ready to shed a few layers and dream of hack days ahead with this almost-spring #ROOTD look.

Let’s start with a soft, breathable base layer. I’m feeling this technical tee from Horseware.

Horseware Technical Tee, $39.95

Then throw on Alessandro Albanese’s Cremona sweater (and yes, I will absolutely ride in it no matter what the description says). The side slits let the fabric fall just so and creates slimming coverage when in the saddle.

Alessandro Albanese Cremona Relaxed Sweater in Coconut, $89.97

I love a good cowl neck especially when worn under this Charles Owen helmet. The wide brim protects against rain and sun (both of which we see plenty of this time of year) and has a sophisticated vibe with a hint of haughty. This helmet is what oversized sunglasses are to Nicole Richie: a stylish necessity.

Charles Owen MyPS Helmet with Wide Brim in Navy, $301.64

For breeches, you can’t go wrong with tan and despite what your trainer told you, it’s not only for the show ring! Tan is incredibly flattering on all body types and the epitome of equestrian elegance. I like this Horze pair.

Horze Grand Prix Knee Patch Breeches in Tan, $119.99

For the final touch, I’m going to pull from last week’s post and use Romfh’s midnight navy Croc belt.

Romfh Croc Belt in Midnight Navy Croc, $44.95

For the ultimate “I woke up this way” vibe, tuck only the front of the sweater into the breeches to highlight the belt’s detailed buckle.

Volia! #ROOTD done right.
