Gaining first choice in the random draw, trainer Satish Seemar chose post position 3 for North America, winner of the Maktoum Challenge Rounds 1 and 2 and a favorite in Saturday’s 24th running of the $12 million Dubai World Cup.

Saeed bin Suroor, trainer of last year’s returning winner Thunder Snow, gained next-to-last choice in the draw. His co-favored charge will seek to become the first horse to win the world’s richest race two times, but must achieve the feat from the far outside post 12 in Saturday’s 13-horse contest.
