First in the ring. First in the ribbons!

Show jumping maverick Todd Minikus (USA) owned the $2,500 VisitLex 1.40m Speed at the Lexington International in Kentucky with Lord Calador. Posting a blazing 56.807 seconds, the speedy pair were nearly three seconds faster than runner ups Olivia Chowdry (USA) and Chuck Berry 8, who finished in a time of 59.597 seconds.

“I’ve ridden [Lord Calador] since he was a five-year old, so it’s no shocker to him to come in the ring and have to turn on the after burners right off the bat—he knows what’s going on,” said Minikus.

“Now he’s an eight-year old and has the experience to do that. Melissa [ ], his ‘mommy,’ we call her, she’s very proud of him and she’s always happy when he wins.”
