Alison Robitaille and Serise du Bidou made short work of their to-do list in the $36,500 Grand Prix Qualifier at the Sacramento International CSIW-3* in California on Thursday.

The pair posted the only double clear of 47 entries. It’s a relatively new partnership for Robitaille, who’s been riding the mare for eight months, and one that she says is just starting to come together.

“I really haven’t had many jump-offs with her and we’ve really started to click this last few months,” Robitaille explained. “Serise du Bidou has really become a great horse for me, I feel really fortunate.”

Last to go in the order, their careful clear clinched the victory.

“It is always lucky to go last in a jump-off, especially with no one else being clear. I trusted my horse was going to go clean so I didn’t take the risky inside cuts, and it paid off,” she said.

Canada’s Keean White and Corette finished in second place with four faults and 33.86 seconds on the clock. USA’s Mandy Porter and Milano took third with four faults in 34.38 seconds.

The FEI classes at Sacramento International continue tonight with the $36,500 Murieta Inn, Spa & Restaurant 1.45m Speed at 6:45pm PT. Watch it live on horsenetwork.com/live!
