The Las Vegas National Horse Show is rapidly approaching and we all know that there will be opportunities for post-show fun, most of which will require a little dressing up. Because it’s Vegas! And who doesn’t like a little flare in Vegas?
But after a long day at the show, the last thing most of us want to do is go through the whole process of showering, doing hair and make up, choosing an outfit, etc.—especially when we’re already dreading that early morning wake-up call.
So, in an effort to help find the balance between the wonderful world of horse shows and the “real world” we put together a how-to guide for transforming your show clothes into a fun going-out look. Because when you’re an equestrian, time is never on your side. (All items available at Top Shop or SmartPak.)
Outfit 1: Bling it all together
Do you enjoy sparkle brow bands and spur straps, or even bling on your boots? Bring that bling to your after-show look. Pair a ruffled or stud-detailed blouse with your colored breeches, show belt and a pair of stud earrings and fun booties for an edgier take on the equestrian look. You could even throw on your show coat if you get chilled in the casinos.

Outfit 2: Sass with Class
Heading to dinner right after the show? Transform your classic tan breech into an individually unique outfit with a printed blouse in the neutral family. Go traditional with a tucked shirt and belt. Or introduce an element of elegance and belt your untucked button down at your natural waist. Warm accent accessories like a red loafer and a brown belt will bring an air of sophistication to this outfit.

Pro tip: keep a “Freshen Up Kit” in your tack box—a small kit of essentials such as deodorant, dry shampoo, Listerine breath strips, hair brush, hair tie/ bobby pins, etc. If you want to get really fancy, throw in a little make up, a mirror and some body spray.
Outfit 3: Glamor On
Keep things soft and relaxed with your Classic/Grand Prix day outfit. Pair your white breeches with a fun and comfortable top that features fun detailing, such as a subtle mesh or ruffle. Keep it calm with soft pastel accessories and add a fun bracelet and a pair of simple yet stylish flats. If you decide to add your show coat to the mix, cuff the sleeves once for a more relaxed look that shows off your bracelet.
