For all its trolls, filth, and downright strangeness, the Internet does, on occasion, attempt to be a fairly happy place. Case in point: social media’s latest dance craze, the Running Man Challenge.

The brainchild of University of Maryland basketball players, Jaylen Brantley and Jared Nickens, all you need to participate is your own take on the running man dance and the proper 90s soundtrack (tha’d be the ultra-catchy, “My Boo”, by the Ghost Town DJ’s).  So how do you win said “challenge”?

“It’s not so much a challenge as just, like, a dance, you know?” my college-aged brother-in-law informed me when I asked him for details. (I didn’t know, but I’m taking his word for it.)

In whatever case, the latest organization to take up the challenge/not challenge is Kentucky’s Lexington Police Department, who, we can only assume, has found itself with some spare time now that the Derby Day crowds have dispersed. To their credit, the force really went all-in: there’s plenty of white guy dancing, an actual dream sequence, and even a police dog chase scene.

But without question, the real stars of the show are the Lexington Mounted Unit, who’s scene kicks off at the 1:09 mark. Horseback dancing? Check. Half-passing? Check. A Zorro-like dismount? You betcha.

We take our hats off to you, kind Sirs.
