Simon is a Florida horse. The 8-year-old Appendix QH spent his entire life soaking up the southern sunshine, until last spring, when Simon packed up his belongings (“everything I own is in a box to the left”) and headed north to the Pennsylvania horse country and the home of Jeanette Mundhenk.

It was probably sometime around October when Simon realized he was not in Florida anymore, but his real “Northern Baptism” came over the weekend when he found himself surrounded by 3 ft. of strange, cold white stuff.

His reaction? Priceless…

“What the…what is all this?!”

“What’s hiding in there?! I don’t like it, I don’t like it one bit. Uh-uh.”

“Take me back to Flori—hmm, actually it’s fairly refreshing…maybe I’ll stick around for a while. What’s for supper?”

And yes, Simon did eventually find the courage to venture out into the white abyss. Sort of.
