Massive stride. Agile. Careful.

Electrique is ticking all the boxes for Canadian Olympian Tiffany Foster—and taking names in the ring. The pair has won three of their past four 1.50m appearances.

The win streak started week four of the Spruce Meadows Summer Series when Foster and the nine-year-old Zangershiede mare topped the CSI5* Scotiabank Cup 1.50m in Calgary. This week at Thunderbird Show Park, their first time back in the ring since, they picked up where they left off, winning both 1.50m classes on offer at the CSI3* Summer Fort Welcome, including the The Keg Grand Prix.

Just six months into their partnership, Foster says she’s starting to figure of the formula of the former Kent Farrington ride.

“I think we’ve landed in that good area where we know what each other is doing—in a relatively short amount of time, I feel like we’ve really gelled,” said Foster.

Seven combinations advanced to Anderson Lima’s jump off track on Sunday. Canada’s Kara Chad, hot off a win in Saturday’s Uryadi’s Village Winning Round, set the time to beat with Igor GPH, galloping through the timers in 41.31 seconds. Kassidy Keith (CAN) laid down her best effort with Havana, but finished half a second slower in 42.09s.

Foster and Electrique were next in the ring and lit up the short track using the mare’s massive stride to make short work of the short course. The stopped the clock at 40.56, a time that simply couldn’t be caught by the remaining three.

“It’s incredible. She’s so big and she’s so nimble—you can really turn,” said Foster. “It’s that great combination of a massive stride, an agile horse and a careful horse. So she’s really competitive because she turns left, she turns right, she drops strides, she does everything you ask her to do. And I honestly, I couldn’t be happier with her. I just love her.”
