Seventy-five horses, 46 riders, 13 countries—this week at Thunderbird Showpark in Langley, BC promises a star-studded line up international sport.

The first of 14 legs that make up the North American League, the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Vancouver is the launching point on a nine-month international tour that zig zags across North America before culminating at the Final in Gothenburg, Sweden in April 2019. When the timers stop and the points are tallied after the last qualifier in Ocala, Florida next March, only 14 riders from North America will have earned the right to compete for the title—seven east coast U.S. riders, three west coast U.S. riders, two Canadian riders, and two Mexican riders, along with reigning World Cup Champion Beezie Madden (USA).

The journey for a select few starts this week at tbird with the first qualifying class on Thursday, the $75,000 Maui Jiim Welcome, followed by Friday’s $75,000 Steel-Craft Doors Cup and the Sunday’s feature event, the $145,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Vancouver, presented by Facet Advisors.
