He was there to pick you up after all those long, sweaty, summer days at the barn. He stared on with bemused bewilderment as you waxed poetic on the subtle but all-important differences between mares and geldings, English and Western, Vogels and Parlantis. He invested in more Breyer horses than he cares to admit and part of him is still awaiting the day you outgrow this “horse phase.”

Barn dads are a special—and often under-appreciated—breed on to themselves. This Father’s Day we pay tribute to them. By poking fun at them.
