The first time you lay eyes on a falabella your instincts will be probably be shouting “Look at that adorable little pony!”

But your instincts are wrong. Partly.

Yes, they are in fact exceedingly adorbs. However, these little equines are NOT ponies. Measuring in no taller than 8 hands fully mature, falabellas are the smallest horse breed in the world.

With their small stature, sturdy confirmation and normal sized hearts, falabellas have an average life expectancy of 40-45 years. This miniature breed was developed to handle the harsh elements of the Argentine backcountry, so as tempting as it may be to coddle their precious little faces, they are quite capable on their own thank you very much.
