The death of young event rider Olivia Inglis earlier this month sent shockwaves of grief throughout the horse world and beyond. Monday, family and friends packed a Sydney church to celebrate and mourn a life cut short at just 17 years.
The aspiring equestrian suffered fatal injuries in a rotational fall during a competition in New South Wales, which also claimed the life of her horse Coriolanus. Equestrians all over the world took to social media to grieve, honor and unite in Olivia’s memory. The hashtag #rideforolivia encouraged riders to share pictures of themselves with their horses, which would then be collected to make a mosaic to be given to her family.
