What is the origin of horsepower? Does it begin with a push of the hooves? Is it ignited in the hindquarters? Could it be the crest of the neck shooting energy down through the ground like an oil field pumpjack? Maybe it is a symphony of ligaments, tendons and sinew that orchestrates this crescendo of speed?
Or, does it all come from the heart?
The Jockey Club of the UK is onto something here with this spectacular video production (courtesy of the genius lab that is Equine Productions), in what it calls “a celebration of the ultimate athlete, the thoroughbred racehorse.”
They even made one for hurdlers, too.
