Make that 31 consecutive wins for Germany’s Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and TSF Dalera BB…

Sunday’s Lövsta Top 10 Dressage at the Sweden International Horse Show saw personal bests from three riders and the world no. 1 pair defend their title.

The reigning Olympic, European and World Cup champions captured both CDI5* classes in 2022. They repeated the feat in 2023, dancing to an 82.087% in the Grand Prix and a 90.295% in the Freestyle.

“I had a better feeling than yesterday. The entrance halt was much better, the changes were really good and I just had a hiccup in one extended trot. But all in all she felt really good,” said von Bredow-Werndl.

While a win is generally out of reach when von Bredow-Werndl and Dalera are in the ring—the pair is undefeated since the 2020 Tokyo Games—a rising tide lifts all boats. Denmark’s Nanna Skodborg Merrald, the current world no. 3, scored personal bests in both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Freestyle on Blue Hors Zepter. The pair were second on Saturday with a 80% score and again on Sunday on 89.625%.

Denmark’s Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Vayron also earned a personal best of 83.125% in the Freestyle as did Sweden’s Maria von Essen and Invoice (77.200%).

Germany’s Isabell Werth and Emilio 107 took third on 87.320%.
