Cowboy Lassos Bike Thief in Walmart Parking Lot, Saves the Day

Where have all the cowboys gone? Apparently to the local Walmart parking lot in Eagle Point, Oregon, where last week one of them intercepted a robbery-in-progress with his lasso and saved the day (as cowboys are wont to do).

Robert Borba, a cattle rancher, family man, and champion bull rider, was picking up some dog food when he heard a woman screaming that someone had stolen her bike.

“I grabbed Old Grey out of the trailer and went for him,” Borba said.

A local landscaper snapped pictures of the hero, who mounted up and roped the would-be thief, Victorino Arellano-Sanchez, by the ankles. “I just rode off like I would if I roped a cow or something,” said the soft-spoken Borba.

“Poor gal’s bike could have been her only transportation.”
