Ever feel like your horse is just a bit…underdressed? Of course not, but I dare you to say this horse does not look dapper in his Harris Tweed suit.
Just in time for this week’s Cheltenham Festival comes this three-piece horse suit (plus cap!), fit for fashion forward stallions everywhere, handcrafted by fashion designer Emma Sandham-King.
“Creating the world’s first tweed suit for a horse has been one of the biggest challenges that I have faced in my career as a designer,” said Sandham-King, who used about 20 yards of fabric to spin this beauty together. “Tweed is undergoing a massive revival and this year’s Cheltenham Festival will see the most tweed worn since the 1960s.”
Thank goodness for the tweed renaissance because it’s been evident for several years that what the world needs now, is more tweed, sweet tweed.
We can debate the pros/cons of horse rugs all day long, but I’m not sure anyone can rightly argue this three-piece Harris Tweed horse suit is anything but stellar. This handsome fella looks like a cross between Secretariat and Sherlock Holmes. Scholarly and stately, but also a little frisky.
Have you seen @AP_McCoy & his pal Morestead all #CheltenhamReady in their tweed suits?
