Gwen Stefani Becomes a Horse Owner, Internet Loses its Mind

Did he or didn’t he? That’s the question setting tabloids abuzz nationwide this week after singer Gwen Stefani, like Channing Tatum before her, took to Instagram to welcome the newest member of the family, horse Halo. Stefani, as we know, is one-half of the country’s current “it” couple, along with country singer and her The Voice co-star, Blake Shelton.

The issue on everyone’s mind, however, is did Halo come from boyfriend Blake Shelton, or from some other person who gives away horses like Delta doles out pretzels? And if Halo didn’t come from Blake, then who could this mystery gift-horse giver be? Let’s round up the usual suspects, shall we?

The internet, for its part, is totally sure it was Blake.

Besides pure speculation, the case against Shelton has some merit. For one thing, the Oklahoma native has a history of giving horses as gifts to his lady friends, including a Gypsy Vanner for ex-wife, Miranda Lambert, on her 30th birthday.

But who’s to say it couldn’t have been Gwen’s own ex, British singer Gavin Rossdale? Reportedly, the former Bush frontman may have cheated with the nanny while Gwen was still in the hospital with their third baby (because #sleazegoals). So that’s at least deserving of one ‘I’m Sorry Horse’—maybe two. No?

Or, by chance, could Halo have come from one of Gwen’s many, wildly generous celebrity friends? Pal Kanye West, for example, has been known to splurge on over-the-top presents—including purchasing 150 designer gifts for his wife, Kim Kardashian, this Christmas.

Nah, who are we kidding. It was definitely Blake.
