The CP Palm Beach Masters CSI3*-W, presented by SOVARO®, is descending on Wellington, Florida for its second year on February 2–5. This year’s event promises to be one of the highlights of the 2017 Wellington season. But that’s just one of the many reasons we’ll be checking it out …

1. You want to poke around the Jacobs’ property.

It’s okay, we get it. Now’s your chance! We may or may not have told anyone who will listen people that we’ll be spending a no-expense-spared weekend at Wellington’s original “oasis of calm.” (That’s Deeridge Farm to the plebes).

2. You’re hoping to bump into Kent Farrington.

Same. Obviously.

3. Because the food is on point.

Did we mention that Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto and his team will be preparing sushi in the Taylor Harris Club on Sunday? MORIMOTO. He’s, like, the McLain Ward of sushi making. Speaking of McLain…

4. You have a standing date with HH Carlos.

Our man Carl asked us to drop by and hit Ward up for an autograph. Pinky swear.

5. You’ve got money riding on the World Cup Qualifier.

It’s the second to last qualifier for the North American League East. The 2017 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final is being held on home soil (Omaha) in March. AND it’s a non-championship year, so the horse and rider line up will be amazing. You best be believing there’s a side game running on that high stakes action.

6. You’re doing it for the kids

With all parking proceeds from the $20 per carload fee on Saturday and Sunday going to the Neil S. Hirsch Family Boys & Girls Club of Wellington, it’s spectating for a cause. Not going would make you look like a terrible person. Just sayin’. (Valet parking is available too, in case you live in Florida don’t like to walk.)

7. And if you happen upon the curated mixologist, so be it.

Like Lou always says, no bar is complete without specialty drinks created by the Palm Beach Masters’ curated mixologist. There’ll be bloody marys, mimosas and lemonade in a variety of flavors, chilling in their luxury Sovaro coolers, natch.

8. You want to vicariously jump around the derby field.

This year, in addition to the Palm Beach Masters, Deeridge will host the Deeridge Derby Weekend from March 3–5, 2017, featuring a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby, a $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, and a $2,500 Pony Derby. The field for both events is sponsored by Hollow Brook Wealth Management, so we’re just going to assume it’s their hunt cap tip to Jeremy’s field hunter roots.

9. You’ve always wanted to dine like an NFL-er.

Carolina Panthers executive chef John Morey, as well as executive chefs John Wilson and Heath Barbato of the Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers, are bringing their signature culinary styles to the Taylor Harris Club. Because of course they are. Rumor has it that several linebackers will be serving as jump crew, too…

[Fact check from the Jacobs’ family: That last part is categorically untrue.]

10. There’s a chance you’ll be spotted on the live stream.

See and be seen, people! Or embrace you inner hermit and catch all the World Cup Qualifier live streaming action on FEI TV from the deck of your luxury yacht and/or duct taped EasyBoy—either way, you’re guaranteed to have a great seat.
