“A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….STAR WARS”  Cue score!

There are a multitude of iconic sounds from the “Star Wars” cinematic universe—buzzing lightsabers, Chewie’s unique vernacular, Darth Vader’s breathing apparatus—but perhaps nothing is more beloved than John William’s original score. This year, a bit of this movie magic will make its way to the 12th Annual “Horse & Symphony” at the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen on July 9, 2016.

“Horse & Symphony,” an event that pairs extraordinary international riding talent with the superior skills of the Aachen Symphony Orchestra, is quite a crowd puller at CHIO Aachen. According to Show Director, Frank Kemperman, a floodlit Deutsche Bank Stadium combined with the live sounds of the Symphony Orchestra “is the perfect combination between unique equestrian sport and highly emotional music—especially next year when we will be able to experience famous melodies from some of the most famous movies in the history of film.”

Indeed, “Star Wars” will not be the only score to take center stage. Under the direction of Aachen’s Chief Music Director, Kazeem Abdullah, the Symphony Orchestra will be bringing many heroes from the movie scene to the Deutsche Bank Stadium in musical form, including Captain Jack Sparrow and another iconic Harrison Ford/John Williams pairing, Indiana Jones.

Even if you can’t make it to the event in person, at least enjoy the efforts of the CHIO Aachen team to create memorable photos to accompany this teaser. It’s not every day that you get to see the Aachen STAR WARS Stammtisch in full costume beside an unsuspecting dressage horse. May the force be with them all!
