If you love running and riding, Ride n Tie might be the sport for you.

In this equestrian event, the endurance of both horse and rider are tested as two people and one horse set off on a trail race. With one person riding and the other running, the pair crosses the start line. The rider rides ahead on the trail and leaves the horse tied to a dedicated spot, to wait for the runner to catch up.

The newly dismounted rider begins running while the horse waits for the other runner. When the other runner arrives, he or she mounts up and continues down the trail, leap frogging the other runner and tying the horse again at a spot further down the trail.

The horse must do a vet check at the race’s midpoint and at the end.
